Year of Jubilee Kick-Off!!

What an exciting time we had at our Capital Campaign Kick-off! We were blessed by our students and faculty as they sang and shared their talents with us. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Meade shared some of the goals and fundraising ideas for the next few months. Pastor Scott Mishler led us in a time of prayer for LBA. After the meeting, we enjoyed a time of food and fellowship.

One of our plans is to contribute coins (dollars) to change the future of LBA. We are asking everyone to save your change. Every coin given will help us reach our goal of ending the year in the black and of paying off our short-term loans. Each homeroom has a collection jar for the students of that class to contribute their coins (dollars). How much do you think we can collect in coins from January 15 - April 1? See other Year of Jubilee information attached.

On Friday night, Kevin Chao, one of our Taiwanese sixth graders, shared his testimony. What a blessing to hear this young man share his heart with us! Following is his speech:

The reason I love LBA is it's a Christian school. Everyone is nice. Mrs. Hackler is always very happy when we come to school. Almost every time, excluding holidays, when I come to school, she is always standing by the door, and opens the door with a smile to welcome me and all the students, even when the weather became freezing cold outside.

After that I go to the classroom for the wonderful day. We will pray first and put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10-18). In Taiwan we didn't know how to pray. I knew the name Jesus and the Bible, but I didn't know what Jesus did for me or what was in the Bible. I am thankful to learn about Jesus and the Bible here.

I wish LBA was bigger and had a gym, too. The big reason is no big deal with small school, and even that we don't have a gym or we don't get enough money, but God will help us to solve the problem.

I love LBA because of the friends I've made here. They are helpful and friendly; they don't fight; they take care of the smaller kids; they are caring. They do all the good things, because Emmanuel, which means God, the only true God, is with us; they show us the way, the truth, and the life.

Do you have salvation? If not, you need it now.
