Academics - Technology

TECHNOLOGY HARDWARE

LBA's state-of-the-art technology program evolves around the media center.  Stocked with an arsenal of Pentium 4 computers, students work on educational software, conduct research, learn typing skills, and connect technology with other content areas within the center.  Not only does the center house over 40 computers for student use, but each classroom also houses computers for student use.  The school is  completely hardwired for 100/1000-base/T networking with CAT-5 drops in virtually EVERY room in the building.  Additionally, the academy incorporates a fully integrated wireless system with two wireless routers, providing simultaneous wireless access throughout the entire campus.  LBA provides online services via a cable connection operating in excess of 6.2MB/sec downloads.  To ensure each child can research on the internet with peace of mind for internet safety, LBA utilizes the SonicWall Firewall and the Barracuda Internet Filter

SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS

The technology connection is completed with the implementation of the School Technology Program (STP) curricula. Recognizing that we live in a technology-driven world, we want to make sure our students have the competitive edge to succeed in this new and challenging environment. STP provides LBA with all the tools to develop an outstanding technology program that incorporates teacher training, scope and sequence, technology objectives, curriculum, and assessment.
